About Us
Chihuahua & Small Dog Rescue, Inc. a
Colorado corporation recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3)
tax-exempt organization is committed and devoted to the rescue
and home placement of Chihuahuas and small dogs that have been
abused, neglected, abandoned and surrendered by their owners.
To education the public to become responsible dog owners and
spay and neuter their dogs. Our vision is to see that the
unnecessary euthanasia in Colorado end, and that all adoptable
dogs will find their forever homes.
October 2005 was the start of Chihuahua &
Small Dog Rescue, Inc. Sue Fisher, President and Sharon Henson,
Vice President formed the organization with the policy that we
would not be like most rescue groups and be breed specific and
only rescue purebreds, but this organization would rescue
Chihuahua mixes and other small breed mixes and purebreds. We
felt that all small breed dogs deserve a second chance at life,
no matter what breed or mix as long as they are less than 15
pounds full grown.
Since we are not a shelter, we do not have
a facility for you to come visit all our little ones. They are
all in foster homes throughout the state of Colorado. Our
little ones are cared for in foster homes where they are part of
the family, and they can be thought that life will now be better
for them. Get them over the fears that they have and also get
them healthy again. Foster homes are the backbone of this
organization, without them, we would not be able to rescue the
little ones that we have.
We grow every month and we depend totally
on volunteers. Everyone involved with Chihuahua & Small Dog
Rescue, Inc is a volunteer, who have opened up their homes and
hearts to save a life. Everyone is dedicated to the little ones
that we rescue, and we do everything within our power to give
these wonderful furry friends a second chance at life.
